Hamid Mani, M.D. Consultant
Hamid Mani, M.D., is an internationally recognized clinician. He graduated from the Vanderbilt University Ophthalmology program in 1987, where he did his residency and chief residency. He did his vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Louisiana State University, in New Orleans, where he also became an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Mani is the co-founder of California Retina Associates. This practice specializes in Diseases and Surgery of the Retina and Vitreous, Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy, and Retinal Detachment repair. He is one of the pioneers in intraocular tumor and submacular surgery. He helped develop the use of silicone oil and perflurocarbon liquid under the FDA protocol for treatment of complicated vitreo-retinal diseases.
Dr. Mani serves on the Board of Overseers at Hoover Institute, Stanford University.
Dr. Mani has been involved in a number of national research studies such as the Profil Study. He has authored and co-authored a number of publications and abstracts in his field. Dr. Mani is well known by his colleagues for his passion for medicine and his excellent patient care. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and San Diego County Medical Society.
